EPSOM
AQUATIC CENTRE
Background
Narrative
The
Aquatic centre is a multi-purpose facility focused on the teaching, training and
competition for a wide range of aquatic sports.
The high demand for pool time meant that the pool has usage 14 hours a
day, 7 days a week, by community and school users.
It is not proposed to open the facility to casual users, nor to include
high cost play activities, but to provide a cost effective facility focusing on
meeting the needs of the community’s high intensity user groups, without
having a detrimental impact on other public pools.
Features
The
key feature of the Epsom Aquatic Centre is its ability to function as a deep
water facility as there is a major deficit in deep water pool time available.
